Urology referral criteria

 Criteria for URGENT outpatient referral

  • Frank haematuria (except females with confirmed UTI + age <35yrs)
  • Renal mass
  • Testicular mass
  • Suspicion of penile cancer
  • Chronic urinary retention with renal impairment
  • Symptoms of metastatic urological disease

 Non-urgent referral

  • Abnormal prostate examination
  • High repeated PSA in absence of UTI (see PSA testing and referral guidelines on ECCI extranet)
  • Persistent asymptomatic occult haematuria confirmed on MSU (see guidelines on ECCI extranet)
